The reason we'd get our ass kicked in a war with China isn't because of aircraft carriers, it's because funding an American war with China would require BORROWING A BUNCH OF MONEY FROM CHINA!
Yeah, that seems like a problem too, doesn't it?
Not to be flippant, but that's what the Aegis ships are for. A carrier by itself is vulnerable to a lot of different attacks, but that's why carriers are never by themselves.
europe doesn't want our missile defense shield bases, right? so why don't we put them on aircraft carriers?
