Amsterdam Travel Advice?

JQ and I are going to Amsterdam for about a week (leaving Wednesday night). Any advice on things to do and/or how to do them from any travelistas out there?

Oh, you must go see the secret attic church ‘Ons Lieve Heer op Solder’ (Our Lord in the Attic), the new Bag and Purse Museum on the Herengracht and the Amsterdam Tulip Museum on the corner of the Anne Frank House, which you won't want to miss either.

Get back to me about how much you enjoyed them, but no thanks necessary.

If you have any time left over, check out and partake of the red light district with the pathetic and exploited East European whores in the front windows.

But if Jonny Quest is along, it's The Bushdocter at Thorbeckeplein 28, just off the Rembrantplein. It features American-style graffiti and rap music, which we all love, and about 30 different kinds of cannabis.

Ask the [bartender] for a recommendation [altho he'll steer you toward the expensive stuff], or just ask for the AK-47.

[Hey, Wm. F. Buckley used to steer his yacht outside US territorial waters and toke up bigtime. We're not all squares. But the Bag and Purse Museum sounds really cool.]

Cannabis? In Amsterdam? I'm sure I have no idea what you're talking about. And if I did, I would be shocked, *shocked*...

But man, that bag and purse museum sounds...very...er...

Rent a bicycle, maybe one with a mechanical assist. I've never been beyond the utterly dismal airport, but I have family that had a great time touring on bicycles. And they don't even like biking.

You should add
Paulus Potterstraat 7
1071 CX Amsterdam to your itinerary, that's the address of the Van Gogh museum.........

Thanks, DA. The VG museum is first on our list.
