And why not blame it on religion? These days, when someone looks to God (no matter what god they follow) it's usually to see which people their diety wants them to kill. I'm so glad I live in a mostly a-religious country where churches are going out of business. Most people here don't give a rat's arse about religion, mate. And you know what? Our crime rate is low!
Need any half-assed philosophers down under? Sounds like my kinda place.
(Incidentally, Australia has produced several good contemporary philosophers.)
